Thomson, Rogers is set to host its annual Back to School conference this month, focusing on the transition of moving home from the hospital after suffering an injury.
The event, presented in collaboration with the Toronto Acquired Brain Injury Network, runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Sept. 12.
To kick off the conference, Thomson, Rogers partner, personal injury lawyer Darcy Merkur, is scheduled to present an up-to-date review of statutory accident benefits and the legislative framework.
Various members of the healthcare sector are slated to speak on best practices for hospital social workers and care coordinators regarding safe and effective discharge planning before the afternoon session where Thomson, Rogers partner and personal injury lawyer Leonard Kunka will discuss a consumer’s perspective of working through the system.
A family therapist is scheduled to speak on the family experience after a traumatic brain injury, and Thomson, Rogers partner Stacey Stevens, a personal injury lawyer, is then set to moderate a panel at 3:15 p.m.
The Back to School conference, with the theme Hospital to Home: Working Collaboratively, takes place at Four Seasons Hotel at 60 Yorkville Ave. in Toronto in the Aria Banquet Room.
