How employers can avoid fines up to $500K

Employers can face fines up to $500,000 if a workplace injury occurs when the company isn’t complying with its safety obligations, says Toronto employment law lawyer Doug MacLeod.

In a new video on AdvocateDaily.com, MacLeod touches on the importance of following health and safety standards.

“There are a myriad of obligations imposed on employers under the Ontario Health and Safety Act,” says MacLeod, principal of MacLeod Law Firm.

Under the Act, employers must comply with a variety of rules, including an obligation to post relevant information in the workplace and assessing risk of violence at work. The rules vary depending on how many employees a company has, says MacLeod.  Watch Video
