Law firms need to be using AI in order to resolve disputes. Marvin Huberman is a writer for Advocate Daily, and he says AI is critical for mediation and arbitration.
According to Marvin, it can help people resolve their disputes by sticking to logical facts and solutions. However, it’s very unlikely that AI will replace lawyers or arbitrators. AI is part of the solution, but not the entire solution.
What AI can do is analyze patterns, and can work 24 hours. And of course, it’s always learning from the outcomes of the mediation or arbitration. It can see what works with ADR, and what doesn’t work.
“It may be better for some people to relay that information to a non-judgemental avatar or a robot or an artificial intelligence device,” says Huberman.
AI Has a Place In Law
One of the benefits of ADR is that it takes a lot less time (and normally less money) than going through to trial in the regular trial system.
“The document production process in litigation can go on for two years without anyone batting an eye or thinking there’s anything unusual about that. The whole discovery process, including examinations for discovery, might go on for several years in some commercial cases.”
