Merging a hobby you love with your career makes your job a delight, Toronto lawyer and trade-mark agent Ashlee Froese told B.A.F.F.L.E.D blog earlier this month. Read B.A.F.F.L.E.D.
Froese, a board member of Fashion Group International, was included in a recent round-up on the Chicago-based blog that lists some of the world’s most important names in fashion law.
“I’ve always had an affinity for fashion and my move toward fashion law has been an evolution,” Froese, a lawyer with Gilbert’s LLP, says on the site. “My scope of practice is trade-marks, copyright and social media laws – basically I help protect and enforce companies’ brands.”
Froese, who will be presenting on fashion law at the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and also at Queen’s University’s business forum on the fashion industry, says immersing herself into Canada’s fashion industry has allowed her to “have a greater understanding of the nuances of the business and also the challenges that face fashion designers.”
