Small businesses need to protect their IP
Intellectual property is a valuable asset for every small business, whether it’s a trademark, a confidential business plan, a customer list or some other intangible asset, says Toronto lawyer John Simpson of Shift Law.
Too often, he says, IP is not adequately protected or leveraged. And too often, issues relating to IP are identified too late to avoid headaches.
On Tuesday, May 29, Simpson will outline, during an Enterprise Toronto seminar, how to identify, protect and leverage a business’s valuable IP, including trademarks, confidential information and copyrights, and how to avoid infringing the IP rights of others.
The free seminar will be held at Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen St. West, 8th Floor, East Tower, Boardroom A from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
