Cambridge LLP partners head south for CLE presentations



Cross-border litigators Chris MacLeod and Jon-David Giacomelli, partners at Cambridge LLP will head south in the coming weeks to give Continuing Legal Education presentations.

Their subject: “U.S./Canada Cross-border Litigation: key considerations for U.S. lawyers.”

MacLeod and Giacomelli will discuss wide-ranging topics including, where to commence litigation; jurisdictional considerations; enforcement of U.S. judgments and arbitral awards in Canada; the loser pays system for legal fees/costs; limitation periods in Canada; appellate options; obtaining injunctions in Canada; the unique powers of Anton Piller orders and Mareva injunctions; enforcement of letters rogatory/letters of request to obtain evidence in Canada for use in U.S. litigation; service of process in Canada; and working with Canadian counsel: fee arrangements.

The first presentation will be May 30 for the Delaware State Bar Association, then on June 12 they will be attending at the Chicago Bar Association.
